About the artist Adam Pasamanick
Originally trained as a violinist, I became a dental technician when I was 23 and practiced this profession for nine years. Using my experience of sculpting teeth in wax and casting them into metal, I began making figurines. Shifting over to insects was a natural outgrowth of this process. My father was a sculptor and taught me many aspects of the craft. Otherwise, I am self taught. I also sculpt portrait busts, on commission.
In the US my work has been exhibited at the American Museum of Natural History, NYC; the Peabody Museum (Yale University), New Haven, CT; the Fairbanks Museum, St. Johnsbury, VT; and the Trailside Nature Museum (Pound Ridge Nature Reservation), Cross River, NY. I have also exhibited at the Insectarium de Montreal, Montreal, QC, Canada.
